Get Credit for What You Bring to the Table
At Queens College of Theology, we honor the work you’ve already done. Your previously earned college credits can help move you forward, saving you time and allowing you to focus on what matters most: growing into your calling.
Once you are admitted and your required down payment and fees have been paid, you may request an official transfer credit evaluation. This review helps determine which of your prior academic experiences may be applied toward your degree. From there, we’ll create a personalized course roadmap designed to guide you clearly and confidently all the way to graduation.
Transfer Credit Policy
All academic programs offered by Queens College of Theology are designed to prepare individuals for ministry and Christian vocations. These programs are not intended to advance careers in secular fields of employment. Under no circumstances should degree programs from Queens College of Theology be used to pursue state or federal licensure, or other secular certifications that require a degree accredited by the U.S. Department of Education.
Our mission is to equip students with the skills, formation, and credentials necessary to faithfully serve in ministry and related Christian callings.
Credits earned at Queens College of Theology may be accepted by other institutions—secular or religious—at the sole discretion of the receiving institution. Likewise, Queens College of Theology will consider transfer credits from accredited colleges or verifiable Christian institutions (such as Bible colleges or seminaries) if the credits are official, verifiable, and align with the coursework offered within our degree programs. Applicable transfer credits are assessed according to current tuition rates per credit hour.
Queens College of Theology is not responsible for the transfer or acceptance of credits by other institutions.
To support secure and verifiable transcript exchange, Queens College of Theology partners with Parchment.com, the official credential service used by many colleges and universities nationwide. Through Parchment, we are able to both send official QCT transcripts and receive official transcripts from other institutions.
Each degree program allows a specific maximum number of transfer credits. Please refer to the transfer credit chart program-specific limits.
Transfer Credit Requirements
To be eligible for transfer credit consideration, the following criteria must be met:
- You must be in good academic standing and eligible to return to your previous institution (no academic dismissals or unresolved academic holds).
- Undergraduate transfer credits must have been completed with a grade of C or higher.
- Graduate transfer credits must have been completed with a grade of B or higher.
- Credits must originate from an accredited institution or a verifiable Christian institution (such as a Bible college or seminary).
- Transferred credits must align with the academic content and requirements of your chosen degree program. Unrelated secular coursework will not be substituted for theological or ministry-focused courses.
- A transfer credit evaluation form must be completed by the student.
- The student must be actively enrolled in a course at Queens College of Theology.
- Official transcripts from all prior institutions must be sent directly to our office by the issuing institution via email to admissions@queenstheology.org or through Parchment.com.
- Upon completion of the credit evaluation, an invoice will be generated and the student must pay for all credits transferred, up-front. Under no circumstances does Queens College of Theology allow payment plans on credits transferred in.
How many credits can I transfer over?
You ask, we answer
What if I can't afford to pay my transfer credits at once?
Transfer credits are officially added to your transcript once payment is received and approved by the Registrar. Because credits are applied immediately upon authorization, payment plans are not available for transfer credits. If full payment is not completed, the credits cannot be posted to your academic record.
We also understand that financial situations vary. Transfer credit adjustments may be available, and we encourage you to speak with your academic advisor. They’re happy to review your circumstances with you and help determine whether an adjustment option may apply.
Can I know how many credits will transfer in before I start?
At Queens College of Theology, costs are structured as tuition and required fees. Once you are admitted, you’ll be asked to submit your initial fees (program activation, technology, registration, etc). These steps allow us to officially enroll you, create your student portal, and begin the registration process.
After your enrollment paperwork is complete, you may request an official transfer credit evaluation. Once we receive your official transcripts, the evaluation typically takes about one week. At that point, you’ll receive a clear breakdown of how many credits can be applied toward your degree.
Because transfer credits become part of an official academic record, we’re unable to perform credit evaluations prior to admission or before initial enrollment fees are paid. Credit evaluations are only completed for students who have been formally accepted into the college.
I don't understand why I have to pay fees to transfer credits?
This is an understandable question, and policies around transfer credits vary from school to school. Some institutions apply transfer credits at no cost, while others—like Queens College of Theology—require payment per credit hour that is officially transferred into a degree program.
While we recognize that these are credits you have already earned elsewhere, transferring them allows you to apply that prior learning toward your degree at QCT. In doing so, you’re able to reduce the number of courses you need to take, shorten your time to graduation, and move more quickly into the next season of your calling.
At this time, Queens College of Theology is not able to waive transfer credit charges. However, your academic advisor is always available to walk with you through the process, explain your options, seek adjustments, and help you determine the most efficient path forward for your academic and ministry goals.
Can I transfer all of my graduate courses to Queens College of Theology and only complete the dissertation?
Queens College of Theology values the academic work students bring with them, and we do accept transfer credits that align with our degree programs. However, students are not permitted to transfer all graduate coursework for the purpose of completing only the dissertation or final project.
Each graduate degree at QCT includes required coursework that reflects our academic standards, theological framework, and ministry-focused formation. To ensure academic integrity and meaningful engagement with our programs, all students must complete a portion of their degree coursework through Queens College of Theology prior to entering the dissertation or capstone phase.
Your academic advisor will work closely with you to review your prior graduate work, determine how many credits may transfer, and map out the most efficient and supportive path toward degree completion
The transfer policy says secular credits don’t transfer. What about general education courses for bachelor’s degrees?
That’s a great question, and we understand how this can feel confusing. While Queens College of Theology does not transfer unrelated secular coursework in place of theological or ministry-focused courses, general education requirements within undergraduate degree programs can be transferred.
If you’ve completed a general education course at another institution and that same (or a comparable) course is offered at Queens College of Theology, it may be eligible for transfer. All transfer credits must fall within the maximum number of credits allowed for your specific degree program and meet our standard transfer criteria.
Your academic advisor will review your transcripts with you and help determine which general education courses can be applied toward your degree, ensuring your prior learning is honored while keeping your program aligned with QCT’s academic and ministry-focused goals.
