About the program:
What you will learn:
Our ThD program provides students with academically rigorous training informed by an understanding of theology as critical reflection on Christian practice and belief in the light of Holy Scripture.
Entering students work within theological disciplines such as Bible, church history, theology, ethics, homiletics, and Christian formation, and also at the intersection of these disciplines with fields such as political science, peacemaking and reconciliation, medicine, and the arts. The program is intentionally interdisciplinary.
The program is intentionally broad so the student can take a wide variety of courses in Scripture, theology, and ethics, while the research portion of their doctoral program can focus on specific specializations. Your online doctoral degree in theology won’t just change your life – you’ll use it to change the lives of countless others.
To complete the coursework, each course will have an assigned book in which you will be expected to summarize, and then complete a reflection assessment to determine course comprehension. After your coursework is completed, you will be assigned a Dissertation supervisor. From there, your academic research begins. Although the specific courses can be taken quickly, the actual research portion of the doctorate varies on each student and how in-depth their academic research goes. All research will be published within the College library.
Queens College's online Doctorate of Theology program provides the highest level of academic Christian scholarship. Our Th.D. program will provide a blend of deep academic study and practical ministry skills that will equip you not only to create new and impactful research but also to directly further your own ministry.
