Quality of Education Matters

Accreditation and Institutional Standing

Queens College of Theology (QCT) is accredited by the Association of Christian Education (ACE), a Christian-based accrediting body committed to accountability, transparency, and quality within faith-centered higher education.

The Association of Christian Education is a collective of Christian colleges that evaluates institutions based on standards aligned with biblical mission, academic structure, faculty oversight, and institutional integrity. While ACE provides meaningful accountability within Christian education, it is not an accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

Why We Choose Faith-Based Accreditation

Queens College of Theology exists to serve the Church by preparing leaders for ministry, theological engagement, and Christian service. Our decision to pursue accreditation through a Christian accrediting body reflects our commitment to:

  • Christ-centered education grounded in Scripture
  • Institutional accountability within a faith-based framework
  • Academic rigor aligned with ministry outcomes
  • Transparency in governance, curriculum, and student support

Rather than structuring our institution around federal funding requirements, we have chosen a path that allows us to remain focused on our mission, calling, and educational outcomes for those preparing for ministry.

Additionally the cost of pursuing an accreditation by an agency approved with the Department of Education is currently out of our operating budget. QCT will conduct a feasibility study into pursuing additional accreditation statuses every other year.

What This Means for Students

Because our accrediting agency is not recognized by the U.S. Department of Education:

  • Queens College of Theology does not participate in Title IV federal financial aid programs
  • We do not accept the FAFSA
  • Transferability of credits or degrees may vary depending on the policies of other institutions, denominations, or organizations. Many of our students have been accepted at other accredited schools, however we do not provide a list of those schools as we do not have any MOU's or articulation agreements with them.

We encourage prospective students to prayerfully consider their vocational goals and to speak with our admissions team if they have specific questions about recognition or application of their degree.

North Carolina Exemption Disclosure

Degree programs of study offered by Queens College of Theology have been declared exempt from the requirements for licensure under the provisions of North Carolina General Statutes § 116-15(d) for exemption from licensure with respect to religious education.

Exemption from licensure is not based upon assessment of program quality under established licensing standards.

Our Commitment

Accreditation and licensure status aside, Queens College of Theology remains fully committed to:

  • Academic excellence
  • Ethical and transparent institutional practices
  • Preparing students for meaningful service in ministry and the Church
  • Honest communication about recognition, expectations, and outcomes

If you have questions about accreditation, recognition, or how our degrees may apply to your specific ministry context, our team would be honored to walk with you through those considerations.
