Deferring Your Enrollment

Students who are offered admission to Queens College of Theology may request a one-semester enrollment deferral. Deferrals are granted on a limited, case-by-case basis and are subject to approval by the Admissions Committee.

If a deferral request is approved, the student does not need to submit a new application and will retain their admission for the next available semester.

Important Deferral Guidelines

  • Deferrals are limited to one academic semester only.
  • Students may not defer enrollment for more than one semester.
  • Approved deferrals require the payment of any associated enrollment or down payments.
  • All down payments are non-refundable and are applied toward the student’s first term of enrollment.
  • Failure to enroll in the approved deferred term will result in the student forfeiting their admission and requiring a new application for future consideration.

Commitment to Enroll

Students approved for a deferral are considered committed to enrolling at Queens College of Theology for the deferred semester. During the deferral period, students may not enroll at another college or university for the purpose of completing a degree. Doing so may result in the revocation of admission.

How to Request a Deferral

To request a deferral, admitted students must:

  1. Accept their offer of admission
  2. Submit a formal deferral request through the Admissions Office through their academic advisor
  3. Submit all required enrollment payments

Deferral requests are only available after an offer of admission has been accepted and after non-refundable payments are received.
