Walking Humbly with God
Verse:
Micah 6:8 – “He has shown you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?” (NKJV)
Explanation:
This verse summarises the heart of God’s expectations for His people. It isn’t about rituals or offerings, but about living with integrity, showing compassion, and remaining humble before Him. Micah, writing in a time of injustice and corruption, reminded Israel that God desires character over ceremony.
Reflection:
How often do we complicate our walk with God, thinking we must do grand things to please Him? Yet, He calls us to simplicity: justice, mercy, and humility. Are we fair in how we treat others? Do we show kindness even when it’s hard? Are we truly humble, or just religious on the outside?
Meditation:
Take a moment to quietly repeat: “Lord, teach me to walk humbly with You.” Let that settle into your heart. Think about areas in your life where justice, mercy, or humility can grow.
Prayer:
Father, thank You for showing me what truly matters to You. Help me to live justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with You every day. Change my heart where it has grown proud or cold. Let my life reflect Your goodness in simple, honest ways. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
